Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, has made history by becoming the first female African artist to earn a Diamond-certified single in the United States.
According to music monitoring platform Chart Data, the song has now sold more than 11 million units in the American market, officially earning an 11× Platinum (Diamond) certification.
The platform announced the achievement on X, writing:
"US Certifications (@RIAA): Future (@1future) Feat. @Drake & @temsbaby, WAIT FOR U 11x Platinum (11,000,000)."
The achievement marks another major career milestone for Tems, further cementing her place as one of Africa's biggest global music stars and the first African female artist to reach the prestigious Diamond certification in the United States.
